01 — What changed
The first: a chunk of your buyer journey now happens inside an AI answer, before the click. Your brand gets framed — accurately, sloppily, or not at all — by a model your team has no visibility into.
The second: the SEO toolkit you’ve spent years building can’t measure any of it. Ahrefs won’t show you what ChatGPT says about you. Search Console doesn’t track Perplexity citations. The dashboards your team trusts are silent on the channel that’s increasingly shaping how the market sees you.
GEO is the layer that fills the gap. Not a replacement for SEO — most of the underlying content infrastructure is shared — but a different methodology, different success metrics, and different tools.
We do both. SEO and GEO together, because most of the audit work overlaps and most of the fixes ladder up to the same content stack.
02 — What GEO involves
GEO isn’t checking a few prompts and writing a report. The brands that need this — premium B2C companies with reputational stakes in how AI describes them — need a measurable methodology, repeatable across engines and over time. Here’s the shape of the work.
01
Prompt design
We build a representative consumer prompt set — typically 150–200 prompts — that mirrors how your real buyers ask. Across categories, intents, and decision stages. Not random questions. Questions your audience is plausibly typing into AI right now.
02
Multi-engine measurement
Every prompt runs across the major AI engines. Same prompt, multiple engines, multiple answer patterns. We score brand presence, framing, sentiment, and citation patterns at the engine level — because each engine surfaces different sources and lands on different conclusions.
03
Brand visibility scoring
For every prompt where your brand could plausibly appear, we measure whether it does — and how. Mentioned vs. recommended. Cited from your own content vs. paraphrased from someone else’s. Framed accurately vs. confused with a competitor.
04
Gap analysis
Where your brand should appear and doesn’t. Where it appears but the framing is off. Where competitors are winning the answer slot you should own. Each gap traces back to a content, structure, or authority root cause.
05
Action plan
A prioritized list of fixes. Content rewrites, schema additions, authority sources, technical SEO carryovers. What you own. What we deliver. In what order. Sequenced for compounding impact, not theatre.
03 — GEO + SEO
SEO
What carries over from SEO
Authority and trust signals matter. AI engines pull from sources they trust — and those sources overlap heavily with the ones that win on Google.
Structured content wins. Schema markup, clean HTML, semantic structure feed both layers.
Depth matters. Thin pages don’t rank, and they don’t get pulled into AI answers either.
Technical health (crawlability, page speed, internal linking) carries over directly.
Brand mentions across the open web feed Google’s understanding and the underlying training corpora.
GEO
What’s new
Mentions and citations are different things. A mention is your brand name appearing in the answer text. A citation is your URL being pulled as a source. They’re optimized differently and they win you different things.
Community sites shape the narrative more than most brands realize. Reddit, Quora, and forums train these models and surface as cited sources at much higher rates than brand-owned content. If the dominant Reddit thread on your category frames you wrong, that framing leaks into AI answers.
Position becomes presence. Ranking #1 still helps — high-ranked pages are part of what AI pulls — but it doesn’t guarantee the AI mentions you, cites you, or recommends you.
The optimization unit shifts. Pages become passages. Articles become claims. Content has to be quotable at the paragraph level, not just the page level.
We don’t run GEO without SEO. The two share an underlying content infrastructure, and most fixes touch both layers. What changes is what we measure and what we’re optimizing for — same engine room, different dashboards.
04 — How we work
A standard GEO engagement runs six to eight weeks from kickoff to action plan delivery. Project, retainer, or hybrid for execution after that — depends on what you want to own and what you want us to run.
01
Scope
We map your category, your buyer prompts, and your competitive set. Existing SEO posture audited in parallel — what’s indexed, what’s authoritative, what’s leaking. Social listening across Reddit, Quora, and the community sites that shape your category narrative.
02
Measurement
Prompt set designed, run across the major AI engines, raw data pulled. Brand presence, mention quality, citation patterns, framing. SEO posture in parallel — keyword positions, technical health, schema coverage, backlinks.
03
Analysis & action plan
Gaps mapped, prioritized, written into the playbook. What to fix, in what order, with which team. Quick wins separated from structural fixes. Owned by you, owned by us, clearly labeled.
04
Execution
Project, retainer, or hybrid. We can deliver the plan and hand it to your team, or run the execution ourselves. Most clients pick a mix — strategic content and structural work with us, day-to-day publishing in-house.
05 — How we measure it
VizibAI partner
The hardest part of GEO isn’t fixing the gaps. It’s measuring them honestly. Most “GEO audits” check a handful of prompts manually and call it a methodology. That’s not measurement — that’s a screenshot.
We use VizibAI as our measurement platform. It runs prompt sets at scale across the major AI engines — not just the four headline names, but the broader set of consumer and enterprise models that increasingly shape brand perception. Multi-engine, multi-prompt, repeatable over time. The kind of measurement layer that turns GEO from anecdotal into trackable.
We’re a VizibAI partner, and we operate the platform on client engagements directly. Pair that with Brandwatch for narrative monitoring across Reddit, Quora, and community sites, and the standard SEO toolkit underneath, and the audit has actual data behind it — not vibes.

A Maison with deep heritage and strong organic SEO had a different problem. The brand was surfacing on every branded prompt — but with the wrong narrative pulling from outdated sources and competitor framing. On generic category prompts, it was missing entirely from some of its core categories.
We built a 180+ prompt audit across nine topic clusters: category-level queries, brand-level queries, and head-to-head competitive queries. We ran them across four AI models, scored every output, and paired the data with a year of social listening to map how community narrative was leaking into the AI training corpora.
The action plan: 30 prioritized actions across four time horizons — Do Now, Do Soon, GEO-Native, and Later — split between content the brand owns and structural changes we deliver.
07 — GEO Audit
We run a productized GEO Audit for brands that want to see the data before committing to a longer engagement. Same methodology we run on retainer. Same prompt design, same multi-engine measurement, same social listening layer. Scoped to a single audit cycle.
Most clients use it as the starting point. Once they see the data, the conversation usually moves quickly to what to fix first.
